Woodloch Pines is an excellent resort for anyone with ADHD. Kids can choose from a wide variety of activities that require different skills. There are structured activities such as sports games, trivia, and bingo to just name a few. The structured activities change daily. The ability to constantly choose a different activity guarantees a consistent level of novelty, which keeps our kids with ADHD interested and motivated. Additionally, these activities last anywhere from 30-minutes to one hour, which is the perfect amount of time for sustained concentration. There are also activities that are available most of the day, every day including water skiing and go-karts.
Woodloch Pines activities are spread over a manageable distance. We know that kids with ADHD need movement to regulate themselves and the walking from activity to activity provides an easy way to do this. For an additional opportunity for movement, it is recommended to stay in the suites intead the main rooms. The suites are contained in a building that gurantees walking from activity to activity. There is also a “bus” that will take anyone to important areas on the resort so it is also friendly to any gross motor difficulties.
Woodloch Pines is an excellent choice for any child with food allergies or restrictions. They offer a customized menu that alleviates any ingredients that are unwelcome. Each person waiting on the table is made aware of the restrictions.
